Experience:

I began playing electric guitar 9 years ago. Mainly as a means of impressing friends and relatives by playing their favourite Rock songs, but instead ended up with a real passion for music and talent for the instrument itself. I have played countless gigs including winning the 2005 BBC battle of the bands competition held at the York Grand Opera House. This led to the composing and recording of music for Cd’s which have been played and reviewed on BBC radio and in popular rock music magazine “Metal Hammer” and local magazine “Sandman”

As a student at LCM I have spent the past four years studying in depth elements of music including music theory, composition, performance, improvisation and the music industry as a whole. Teaching Style: Perfect practice makes perfect playing and therefore I don’t mind taking the extra time to go over any technicalities covered during the lesson, above all I believe that learning to play the guitar should be a fun and fulfilling experience. Syllabi: Finding a syllabus that is right for the student depends on the individual’s musical preference and goal. I have access to most, if not all, music syllabus including; ‘ABRSM’ and ‘Trinity Rock school’ . I am happy to follow them if it will improve the progression of the student. Specialties: Rock, Pop, Jazz, Blues, Acoustic Other Services, Areas of Knowledge & Musicianship: I have written and recorded music which has been played on BBC Radio and reviewed in music magazine’s, consequently I can offer support and advice for music composition and promotion. I have also played numerous gigs and can offer my experience on performance techniques and getting gigs. Teaching location: All lessons will be given at the Leeds College of Music, which is in Leeds City centre. Lesson Prices: Extended lesson‘s can be arranged.
