Experience:
 
I have been teaching guitar privately and in schools for the last two years and I have also put on workshops on jazz and jazz improvisation. This broad educational background gives me a good starting point to meet your educational needs.
 
Since arriving in Leeds from Norway 3 years ago I have been active on the Leeds scene playing and performing extensively in the Leeds area including venues like The Wardrobe, The HiFi Club and Sela Bar. I have also toured both in Norway and Portugal giving me a wealth of experience to draw upon when helping you release your musical potential.
  
Teaching Style & Syllabi:
 
I recommend tailoring the lessons individually, because that gives us the opportunity to work together finding the best ways for you to learn. I want my students to experience the joy of making music as soon as possible and I want to structure the lessons accordingly. By tailoring the lessons to each student I can create a teaching environment which makes the learning process as creative and enjoyable as possible. However if desired we can follow the RGT syllabus and work towards the grades.
  
Specialties:
 
Improvisation, harmony and rhythm are my main strong points and whilst I have a strong Jazz background I also grew up with rock music listening to and playing tunes by artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Rage Against the Machine. This combined with having lived in Tanzania in Africa for 4 years experiencing the local music and having played Latin music in a number of ensembles gives me a vast amount of knowledge to draw upon when helping you developing musically. Although all these qualifications are valuable, my biggest advantage would still be that I am a dedicated teacher. I am 100% committed to you and your development whether you just want to learn a bit of guitar to play by yourself or you are aiming to become a professional musician.
