Experience:
I have been playing guitar for over 20 years, 15 of which as a professional musician. In that time I have played all over the country in venues ranging from the Cavern Club in Liverpool, to Bradford St George's Hall. I have a wealth of experience in the recording studio, have done TV and Radio Sessions and played at major music festivals.
I also have a lot of experience in the management side of the music industry having worked for a major record label (Sony). I specialize in helping Students avoid the pitfalls of the Music business, how best to deal with Record Companies, and ultimately how to become a professional or even famous and successful musician.
Teaching Style:
I have a relaxed approach to teaching guitar. I establish what goals the student wants to achieve, and set out a timetable to achieve those goals. I don't formally read music myself and find it somewhat hinders creativity. I prefer to tutor students with an aim of them being able to perform competently in a band environment, write their own songs, jam with other musicians etc. If you are interested in learning the theory and technical side of the guitar, then I recommend you choose one of the other tutors who will be better at assisting you in your goals.
I also teach students how to get the best out of their equipment, how to tune, maintain and look after their guitar. I have a large collection of Guitars, Amplifiers and Effects pedals and I allow students to experiment with them to discover their own sound.
Specialties:
My personal love is Rock and Roll (from ACDC to ZZ Top and anything in between - please ask for a comprehensive list!). I would regard this as my specialist area of tuition. However I can accommodate any style from acoustic, pop, blues, country, metal, etc.

As mentioned above, I have a lot of experience in the business side of the Music Industry and act as a consultant for bands looking for advice on how to "make it"
Teaching location:
I teach from home where I have a studio set up especially for guitar tuition. My house is in central Pudsey LS28.
